For several years now Buick has tried to engage a younger crowd in order to expand its share of the marketplace. In recent ads actors show a blindness to seeing the Buick right in front of them, lending an idea that the new Buick lineups are much more than meets the eye and are far more enticing than models of yesteryear. To go along with this bolder and younger new approach across the entire lineup Buick has chosen to unveil a brand new convertible for the 2016 model year called the Cascada.
This gorgeous and fun convertible offers a great spirit and driving impression that will let Buick lovers know they have found a car that shares their own personality and passion for the road. After leaving the convertible market behind 25 years ago who would have thought Buick would come back with such style and grace in a car that should prove to be affordable and loved by many.
With the global reach Buick has come to enjoy, their sales for 2014 were the highest in the brand’s long 111-year history. Showcasing and offering a convertible once again should only solidify the place Buick wants to be in as well as give Buick lovers a great vehicle to drive that offers excellent performance and true Buick stylings that have become and expectation from this premium automaker.
The Cascada, which is Spanish for waterfall, will share a platform with the Verano but be just a little longer. This enticing convertible will be powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine offering up 200 horsepower and 206 lb.-ft. of torque. The Cascada engine will be attached to a six speed automatic transmission to give the vehicle its best performance possible.
The Cascada will offer great Buick features and comfort that have become part of what Buick has been about for several generations. Along with higher end features and performance the Cascada will offer owners a look and style that is new to Buick which gives this car a serious edge in the premium convertible marketplace.
Not only is the Cascada coming out as a convertible Buick which will stun many, but it will also be a two-seater, something not seen by Buick since the Reatta went out of production in 1991. This excellent convertible will offer a top that can be lowered in 17 seconds while rolling down the street at up to 31 mph. This feature will allow Cascada owners to enjoy showing off their car when driving down the city streets at some very comfortable and eye catching cruising speeds.
With the new release of the Cascada for the 2016 model year, Buick is sure to attract a greater percentage of younger buyers. In the past the average age of Buick owners was in the neighborhood of 55 years old. By offering many cars that look great and are fun to drive, including the Cascada that is a very enjoyable two-seater convertible many younger car shoppers may be seriously surprised by what they find at the Buick dealership.
