Getting 'Eyeballs' On Your Inventory

There's a reason why third-party automotive advertising sites are still thriving, despite the wishes of many dealers to go it alone and drive traffic to their own websites.  It's an old adage that says,  "Never put all of your eggs in one basket".

The Compact Crossover Market is Getting Bigger

What are the new vehicles for the new model year?  Do you notice a trend, especially in the SUV market?  The trend seems to be to get smaller.  As the world decided years ago it no longer loved wagons as much as it had for so many generations the crossover SUVs that are coming out in the new car market resemble wagons in size more than you would have ever expected.  Why are these SUVs getting smaller and looking much more like wagons than ever before?  What has taken us down this road to become a world where an SUV drives more like a car?

Why Produce a Product and Not Talk About It?

As bombarded by advertising as we are at every point in our lives it’s hard to believe a  car company would build a car that would not be advertised.  In fact this car was not just under-advertised but it was thought to be dialed down and built to make us believe the car was under powered and not worthy of attention, especially in a class that offered much more exciting (supposedly) cars that would easily enjoy the success of what it was expected to have from this amazing lineup of high powered sports cars.

More Imports than Ever

The sales for vehicles have been at a high for this year and several factors are why the auto industry has seen such a boom.  There are more vehicles to choose from, gas prices are going down, and the turnaround of the economy more people have the money to buy new vehicles than they have in the past few years.  This should be a good thing for our overall economy and it may be, but we are importing more vehicles than ever which does cause us to send money to companies that are based in other countries which it seems is going to be the case for some of our companies as well.

From the 4C to the Giulia

The Alfa Romeo name has been one of the many super high quality names in the world of automakers for several generations.  We have seen a string of high quality super cars from the four-leaf clover and in general Alfa has never chased down volumes of sales or offered cars that were part of mainstream driving.  That has recently changed when they unveiled their new goals and the car that will take them on in the new Giulia which is to make it in time for the middle of 2016 to be in showrooms ready to sell.

Move Over Pick-ups: The Tundra is On The Scene

There have been acceptable names in pick-ups trucks as long as they’ve been around.  The big name American automakers have been the top picks for trucks for most drivers, but recently Toyota has been gaining some ground in the pick-up way of life.  While Toyota’s trucks are not exactly new to the scene, they are getting a lot more popular in recent years, and providing respectable competition for the big boys that have been around for a long time.  One of the most impressive specimens for pick-up enthusiasts is the latest version of Toyota’s full-sized truck; the Tundra.

Fit for a Family: Chevrolet Suburban

Remember the period of time when it seemed as though everything was getting smaller and smaller?  Our cell phones were tiny, shrunken versions of the previous brick sized creations we used to carry.  Crazy fad diets were emerging every two days, each offering conflicting information about how to make our waists smaller without having to work out or give up chocolate cake.  Even cars seemed to be retreating into themselves, sacrificing trunk space and leg room for cuteness and sportiness.  One car manufacturer never bought into the hype of the smaller vehicle and has steadily been producing one of the biggest SUVs on the market.

Mitsubishi Puts Its Foot Down in the US Auto Market

There are a multitude of car manufacturers in the world today, so many that they can’t be mentioned in one breath.  When we think of the powerhouse industries, Mitsubishi vehicles aren’t typically on the list.  With a modest lineup of models in comparison to other automakers, Mitsubishi isn’t often considered to be venerable competition for other Japanese automakers in the United States.  However, maybe we’ve been a little hasty.

Will We See a Mercedes-Benz Pickup Truck?

What is next for you if you are Mercedes-Benz?  As one of the strongest competitors on every luxury vehicle state and a fixture in racing, there really isn’t much Mercedes-Benz hasn’t accomplished.  They offer a line of cars, SUVs and vans to the public that put many others to shame with their amazing drivability and features that are meant for the shoppers of the segment for that particular vehicle.  Heck, the work vans that are offered with the three star badge are even top notch and make the work of hauling products to and fro much easier than some of the competition.

2016 Acura ILX: New and Improved for a Better Performance

When you purchase a luxury model, you want luxury features and a top of the line driving experience.  If you are unable to feel the difference between a luxury model and mainstream one you end up feeling disappointed and wonder why you spend the extra money on a luxury model in the first place.  The Acura ILX had this problem during its last version, driving much more like its corporate cousin, the Honda Civic.  Because of this feedback Acura went back and gave it another go round to give us a car that is worthy of carrying the Acura brand.

The Chevrolet SS Holds Questions that Need Answering

The Chevrolet SS is currently built in Australia and is one of the most impressive sedans on the market.  This car can be the perfect spy car as it appears to be mild mannered enough to be thought of as just another sedan but one step on the gas and a throw of the gears and away you go.  The massive V8 engine roars to life, powering the rear wheels and giving you everything you could ask for from a sedan this awesome and powerful.

Beast on the Outside, Beauty on the Inside

It would be hard to describe too many vehicles this way, but the one we have today certainly fits that description.  The Ram Laramie Limited is supposed to be the pinnacle of Ram trucks.  Nothing else is to come close to the power, performance and style of a truck like this, but it seems Ram designer chose this truck to not only be the badge of honor that it should be but to carry that badge in such a way the entire world would know what this massive beast of a workhorse is, at least on the outside.

When You Sponsor a Race Car…

You spend the money to have your name put on a race car and get to see it make its way around the track every Sunday in the Sprint Series of NASCAR, but what else could you do with that partnership.  If you are Kelley Blue Book or any other car review company you just might want to see if you can get the personality that handles the driving of your car to come out and review a car or two for you in order to show fans a different side of the driver and bring some more publicity to your company.

2016 Ford Explorer: Better and More Refined than Before

The new Ford Explorer has huge shoes to fill.  For years the Explorer has been a serious fan favorite in the mid-sized SUV segment with its long history of outstanding performance, excellent power, and good off road capabilities all at prices that many can afford.  The Explorer has been a longstanding competitor and continues to improve upon itself to offer more equipment, better interior refinements, and a distinct style that appears to be right out of the Land Rover playbook.  The Platinum model is all new for this year and gives us a great deal more to enjoy, but the top of the line isn’t the only place we see some awesome upgrades as the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine adds more to other models as well.

What is the Kodo Look?

As we have gotten used to seeing automakers come up with names that are creative and interesting in order to give us a hint at what a feature or vehicle will be sometimes these names need a bit of explaining in order to be fully understood.  The Kodo look is Mazda’s new Soul of Motion styling language, but unfortunately that doesn’t really explain it either.  This Kodo look is what is used on the new Mazda CX-3 SUV and offers the vehicle a look that is generous and moving across the entire vehicle.  It offers a smooth design and easy curves that give the CX-3 a great look that is enjoyable from many angles.

Lost and Found

For many of the older generations owning a high powered sports car in their 20s was a symbol of freedom and the life of the open road.  As the generations have passed, many who are under the age of forty have never experienced this feeling of freedom.  Along with the freedom came the knowledge you could work on a car yourself in an age before advanced computerization and automation of every possible system.  This gave cars and the people who owned them a special bond that could only be broken by the need to sell these cars when the family starts to grow and times get tight.

What is the Ford Flex?

The Ford Flex is a unique vehicle that really deserves its own market as it doesn’t really fit in as an SUV, a wagon or a minivan.  The Ford Flex offers a unique look that will appeal to those who need a minivan but don’t want one.  This vehicle will also appeal to those who are looking for a wagon performance in a larger bodied vehicle that offers more space for cargo and passengers to ride along.  The Ford Flex is put in a category as a crossover SUV, but it seems to be much more than that to me.

The Ford Flex has some specific attributes that make it attractive, but also some that detract from it.  Let's start by calling it a minivan.  It has the space of a minivan with lots of seating and plenty of power under the hood.  The Flex even has some great cargo space in the rear to carry plenty of gear.

Toyota has produced the RAV4 for many years and it has remained popular over time. This April, Toyota introduced the 2016 RAV4 Electric Hybrid at the New York Auto Show. Toyota has been the overwhelming gas-electric hybrid sales leader in the US since 2000, so it is really no surprise that the RAV4 has been revamped in 2016 as an electric hybrid vehicle.

On the exterior of the all new RAV4 Electric Hybrid, you find a refreshed look with only a few changes to the front styling, LED lighting in the front, new rear bumper and liftgate with LED lights. Virgin Mobile to Go Virgin Automobile?

AT&T and Verizon have claimed their stake in the automotive industry in the way of the “connected car.” They want to be able to connected their technology to homes and other products. This seems very logical since Android Auto and Apple’s CarPlay have made their debuts into the market, but one mobile company wants a bigger stake in the market. Virgin mobile has announced interest in the Electric Vehicle segment of the market to compete with Tesla Motors.
