Lexus Makes the 2015 GS an 'Interesting' Offering

What makes the GS interesting?  Start with the fact this sedan offers a very coupe-like appearance making it much more aerodynamic than most sedan.  Add to this the increase from the 350 to the 450h doesn’t reduce the performance in any noticeable way giving shoppers the choice of a normal engine or hybrid one to choose from and know they will experience some great performance.  With these interesting features in place, the GS is a very energetic luxury sedan that comes in competing with some longstanding namesakes such as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6 and Cadillac CTS.  Even in this awesome competition the GS shows up with an outstanding performance to stand above the rest in many ways.

As a luxury car that fits itself nicely between a well-behaved sport sedan and a luxury cruiser the Lexus GS offers a great deal of performance and equipment for any owner to take advantage of and fully enjoy.  For 2015 the GS offers a new multimedia system with a 12.3-inch display screen which has the ability to be split into three sections to give read outs for the audio, navigation and climate control systems.  A set of new 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels is also available on the 2015 Lexus GS.

Driving the GS offers the dynamic and exciting driving experience that is offered across most of the Lexus lineup of vehicles.  The excitement is helped by a very confident and capable control system with starts with a very stiff unit-body construction and a lightweight aluminum control-arm suspension.  Add a wide stance and a very responsive steering system and the GS is capable of handling just about any canyon run while still pampering the occupants who are enjoying the ride in a luxury sedan.

Two engines options are available in the engine compartment of the Lexus GS, the first being a 3.5-liter V6 engine that carries in 306 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque.  This engine can be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission for the rear-wheel drive models or a six-speed automatic transmission for the all-wheel drive versions.  The fuel efficiency for this engine shows up at 19 city/29 hwy mpg for the RWD models and 19 city/26 hwy for the AWD versions.

The hybrid model offers and engine that comes in as a 3.5-liter V6 engine plus an electric motor and battery pack.  This combination shows up with 286 horsepower from the engine and 180 horsepower from the electric motor giving a net system horsepower of 338 for owners to enjoy some great power and performance.  Add the 254 lb.-ft. of torque to this engine and this version of the GS is a very power filled and enjoyable ride along with giving some awesome fuel efficiency.  This fuel efficiency shows up at 29 city/34 hwy mpg for owners to enjoy avoiding the pump and gaining some great savings on fuel costs.

The cabin of the GS shows off with excellent materials and control features for all to enjoy.  The materials are soft and luxurious, pampering the occupants who are driving or riding along in this very nice sedan.  As an upscale vehicle the GS offers a ton of great features that are enjoyed from inside including intuitively placed controls and a bevy of high-resolution and colorful gauges to gain needed information from the interior workings of the vehicle.  The front seats are both adjustable in ten ways in order to find the right comfort zone for anyone sitting up front and the rear seats offer a great deal of leg room for rear seat riders to enjoy in comfort.

On the outside the Lexus GS is attractive and shows off with a great deal of looks with a very athletic stance and a high-end sophistication.  The signature hour glass grill that adorns the front of the GS starts the look from the front to the rear.  The front fascia adds to the overall interest of the vehicle with angles and shapes that are exciting.  The hood to roof angle appears strong and imposing that gives it the sport-sedan appearance.  Finishing touches are achieved from the many spoked 18 or 19-inch alloy wheels that give a feeling of elegant sport and sophisticated power.

The standard equipment that is found on the Lexus GS include leather upholstery, wood and metallic accent trim, a full range of power assists, a power moonroof, a multifunction steering wheel, an energy saving S-flow automatic climate control, a 12-speader audio system with HD Radio and MP3 capability, Bluetooth streaming, a 5.1 Surround Sound, a navigation system, keyless remote entry, push button starting, a rearview camera, anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control,  along with a host of awesome safety features.  With all of this advanced technology and pampering features built into the base model of the GS, even owners buying only the base model have a lot to enjoy.

The optional equipment that is offered for the Lexus GS includes a Premium Package that has headed and ventilated front seats, a Luxury Package with adaptive variable suspension, rear audio and climate controls, semi-aniline leather upholstery, a Cold Weather Package that adds a heated steering wheel and an F Sport Package that installs a 16-way driver’s sport seat, custom tuned AVS, bigger wheels, tires and brakes as well as Variable Gear Ratio Steering.  Some stand-alone options include HDD navigation, a power trunk release, Dynamic Rear Steering, an 835-watt Mark Levinson premium audio system, a heads up display, blind spot monitoring, pre-collision warning, intuitive parking assistance, lane keep assistance and lane departure warnings.

The Lexus GS starts out with a base price in the 350 model just under $50,000.  The AWD model adds about $2,000 to this price giving more control to the vehicle.  The hybrid model, GS 450h starts just over the $60,000 price point and when fully loaded shows up at a much higher price.  As a premier luxury sport sedan the Lexus GS offers a great deal of excellent luxury features to be enjoyed at any price giving the driver the feeling of success every time they step inside this excellent luxury car.
